On their Political Ticker, CNN highlights “Shocking Obama Comparison”: Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus makes an analogy comparing President Obama to the captain of the cruise ship that recently sunk off the coast of Italy (no doubt an attempt to update the Titanic analogy as it is nearly 100 years old) and it is deemed “shocking” by CNN, and even other Republicans distance themselves from the comments.
On the other hand, a prominent sitting senator, Barbara Boxer, says in December 2011 that GOP legislation will literally “kill people” and as far as I can find, CNN.com did not even report it.
I guess "shocking" is relative.
